Basis for this data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO which allows the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

When using these general data and information, the SurgCongress AG does not draw any conclusions about you as a user. Rather, this information is needed to 

(1)  deliver the content of our website correctly, 
(2)  optimize the content of our website,
(3)  ensure the long-term viability of our information technology systems and website technology, and
(4)  provide law enforcement authorities with the information necessary for criminal prosecution in case of a cyber-attack. 

Therefore, the SurgCongress AG may analyze anonymously collected data and information statistically, with the aim of increasing the data protection and data security of our enterprise, and to ensure an optimal level of protection for the personal data we process. The anonymous data of the server log files are stored separately from all personal data provided by a data subject.

1.4 Registration Data

For the full use of the functions of our website registration is required. The registration data are collected through your respective input and used for the specific purpose specified in accordance with your consent (Art. 6 I a DSGVO).

1.5 Duration of storage

We store your personal data after the end of the purpose for which the data was collected, only as long as required by law (in particular tax law).

1.6 Analysis tools and third-party tools

When you visit our website your surfing behavior can be statistically evaluated. This happens mainly with cookies and with so-called analysis programs. The analysis of your surfing behavior is usually anonymous. The surfing behavior cannot be traced back to you. You can object to this analysis or prevent it by not using certain tools. 
You can object to this analysis. We will inform you about the possibilities of objection in this privacy policy. (See 5.1)

You can ask us for information as to whether we process your personal data. As far as this is the case, you have a right to information about this personal data and to the other information mentioned in Art. 15 GDPR.

2.2 Right to rectification

You have the right to correct incorrect personal data relating to you and may request the completion of incomplete personal data in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR.

2.3 Right to cancellation

You have the right to demand that the personal data concerning you be deleted immediately. We are obliged to delete them immediately, especially if one of the following reasons applies:

  • Your personal information is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or otherwise processed.
  • You revoke your consent to the processing of your data and there is no other legal basis for processing.
  • Your data was processed unlawfully.

The right to delete does not exist if your personal data is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defense of our legal rights.

2.4 Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to require us to restrict the processing of your personal data if

You have the right to receive the personal information that you have provided us in a structured, common and machine-readable format and you have the right to transfer this data to another person without hindrance from us, provided the processing is based on your consent or a contract and processing is done by us using automated procedures.

As far as the processing of your personal data is based on a consent, you have the right to revoke this consent at any time.

The exercise of your above rights is basically free of charge. You have the right to contact the responsible supervisory authority, the state data protection officer, directly in case of complaints.

For sending newsletters we use an external service provider with whom we have a contract for order data processing. This contract regulates the processing of the data, which only takes place on our instructions.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use the information required or separately provided by you to send you regular email newsletters. 5.4.1 Data analysis by mailingwork

If we send out newsletters with the help of a mailingwork, we can determine if a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked on.

The data deposited with us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us from the newsletter until your subscription and deleted after the unsubscription of the newsletter both from our servers and from the servers of mailingwork. Data that has been stored for other purposes with us (such as e-mail addresses for the members area) remain unaffected.
